New Horrors a Revisit to Americana
A new vision of a horror story or nightmare. Welcome back to fear and loathing in the american west. Again i have been shooting loads lately and am excited to revisit some of my previous loves of abandoned buildings. I am now far from my previous subjects in the high desert, these were shot in Escondido, Ca at Daly Ranch a beautiful hick if you are interested, also these beauties show up near the end.
I love abandoned old buildings and feel they need som documentation. I hope to shot these Horrific findings again soon. I hope I will remember to bring some thing other than my phone.

Tranquility
One of the things I love most in photography is people I love portraits figure studies. People can be very interesting. Also it leads to a more interesting image.
Imagine this shot without the couple. While its still a beautiful scene I don't think it is anywhere near as interesting.

Impact
On a recent trip to Sonora, Ca i decided to use the Holga lens for my Cannon camera. I am wworking with this lens and it is my first venture into the world of cheep plastic lenses. Shooting with it leads to some interesting issues. First off i have to get used to not being able to focus and just estimate my distance. Exposure meter if useless and the pictures are generally fairly soft, but i think this one came out well and i am liking the lens if anything for fun and frees me up to compose a little more.

Ladder Canyon
Ladder Canyon in the southern California desert. This place was amazing, the beauty of the desert can be so inspiring and led to the creation of these images. These are just a few but more to follow.
This hike seriously reminded me of being a kid four wheel driving in the desert. For years I have tried to explain the beauty of the desert to those that feel its just an awful brown place with no life. But the ground itself exudes these amazing colors.
I am not saying that this is exactly the way things look but this is the closest I have come to my vision when it comes to photography.

Spirits 2
So another Addition to my spirits series. I like the idea of a figure behind something obscuring. I am trying to creat a mystical spirit look looking into the idea of lost souls.

Live Circus
However, while writing an email to my bosses and listening to some Tom Waits the song Live Circus a lyric fit perfectly with this image, and got me thinking about trying to shoot some more to go along with this song
So while I write this i find myself thinking what other inspiration might my iTunes have form me???? This you all for checking this out and expect new great things to come, ideas are pouring in. Also, i must thank you Mr. Waits for years of musical enjoyment and inspiration.

American: Fear of the American Dream
Was browsing through old pictures today and came upon these, My Americana series. These shots have gone a long way. The television and couch was even in a show in Europe. These have always been some of my favorites and hope to come back to this series one day and expand on it and move deeper into my fears of what people think is normal American wants and dreams.
I feel it is killing us our consumer culture our, our lethargy. Americans have become complacent as long as our TV's continue to get larger, our couches softer and our asses fatter, we are all victims of our own indulgences.

Mother and Daughter
Mother and daughter with interesting composition. This was such a fun day and it was great to see people playing in such a care free fashion. No i devices no internet connection or text messages. Of course Obviously was not part of this equation but it was for arts sake.
